Jr. Basketball Program
Basketball is also available to all the 3rd and 4th grade
boys and girls in the parish. This
program will begin the second weekend in December and continue into March. The program puts a large emphasis on
learning the fundamentals of the game.
Practices are Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Once again, even though the program
does not begin until December, please register now. It is important to know how many
athletes we will have for planning purposes.
Cheerleading
Cheerleading is offered to girls in 7th and 8th grades for
Basketball season. Char Story will
be the cheerleading coordinator.
There are several Watterson girls set to help with coaching. To register, just print the St.
Agatha Winter Sports form and return it to the office.

Diocesan Basketball
St. Agatha participates in the Diocesan Basketball League for both boys and
girls in grades 5-8. The league is
open to all active members of the Parish.
The 7th and 8th grade leagues are competitive. This means there will be tryouts to
make the Varsity team. The
Basketball Commissioner, Todd Raish, and the Coaches will select the teams. It is always our goal to keep a class
together when participating in Athletics.
Sometimes, because of the number of athletes participating or the unique
abilities of an athlete at the Varsity level, it may be necessary to combine 7th
and 8th grade students.
As always, our goal is to provide the best overall experience to each athlete.
The commitment to Basketball is a large one.
The 7th and 8th grade Boys often practice off site
at McDonald Sports complex off Bethel Road so they can practice on
a full size court. Most of our
Diocesan teams will practice at least three times a week, some more, until games
begin. The first day practice can
begin is November 1. The games will
begin the second weekend in December.
